Bishop Auckland pupils’ surprise long-standing school governor with special assembly to mark 25 years’ service

A school governor who has dedicated 25 years of his life to the pupils at a Bishop Auckland school was recognised with a surprise assembly on Thursday.
Malcolm Cresswell, who has been both a governor and the chairman of governors at Cockton Hill Primary School over the years, was honoured by both staff and pupils who presented him with a special plaque to commemorate his commitment to the school.
Mr Cresswell took up the role when his wife, Janet Cresswell, taught at the school and continues to carry out the voluntary role despite now living in Northumberland.
