Governors for Schools has this week announced the appointment Hannah Stolton as Chief Executive Officer, following Louise Cooper’s departure in August 2019.

Hannah Stolton, who has led the charity as interim CEO since the summer, was appointed as CEO this week.

Ms Stolton has been with Governors for Schools since 2017, joining the charity as Systems and Impact Manager, before moving to manage the National team and MAT trustee recruitment. During her time as Systems and Impact Manager, Hannah managed the development of systems to reduce the time spent on administration. Her work enabled the charity to dedicate more time reaching out to potential volunteers and schools, improving efficiency and driving growth.

Linda Wilding, chair of Governors for Schools’ board, commented: “Hannah has been an asset to Governors for Schools throughout her time with the charity. We’re delighted that she will continue to lead the organisation and will build upon the impressive foundations she has built over the last 6 months as interim CEO. The board is confident that Hannah will bring her expertise in managing teams and improving efficiency to lead the charity to reach ambitious targets throughout 2020 and beyond.”

Hannah Stolton commented: “I’m delighted to have the opportunity to continue leading Governors for Schools at such an exciting time for the charity. Governors for Schools is a vital resource for schools and volunteers, enabling schools to find the right people to join their boards. I’m looking forward to working with our exceptional team to support schools through effective governance.”
